Yang Jung-ung, the director of the opening ceremony of the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics, is returning to the stage with a tragedy by William Shakespeare, ‘Coriolanus’.

The play is based on the life of the legendary Roman leader Caius Marcius Coriolanus, who saved Rome and became a consul, but was deported from Rome eventually without popular support.

As the only Korean director who staged Shakespeare’s plays at the Barbican Centre and the Globe in London, Yang Jung-ung will once again focus on Shakespearean theatricality after a long absence on stage.
